Born in the village of Pakia, Lakonia, in 1977, he is a graduate of Athens Theological School and a PhD candidate in Byzantine Musicology. He studied Byzantine Music with professor L. Kouzinopoulos and Theory of European Music, under scholarship, at the Athens Conservatory. At the same institution, he took classical song lessons with professor M. Nikaki
Starting in 1998, he got professionaly involved in arts as singer taking part in the National Greek Theatre's production of Aristophanes's Frogs as head of chorus, directed by K. Tsianos.
In 1999 he participated in the National Theatre's perforamance Vira tis Angires (Raise Anchor), directed by St. Fassoulis, singing Mikis Theodorakis's To Tragoudi tis Ksenitias (Song of the Strange Land).
In the same year, he worked with Manos Hatzidakis's Orchestra of Colours performing songs from Asia Minor in the performance Dio Fones gia ti Loxandra (Two Voices for Loxandra).
In the summer of 2000 he collaborated with the Athens Lyceum Club of Greek Women in Thalassa (Sea) at the Herod Theatre and in July 2001, also in the Herod Theatre, he sang with Maria Farandouri in the concert entitled Enas Eonas Eliniko Tragoudi (A Century of Greek Song).
In the summer of 2002, he took part in Domna Samiou's concerts around Greece.
In September 2002, he performed songs by M. Theodorakis, M. Hatzidakis and Stavros Ksarhakos with Maria Farandouri in the concert entitled Melopiimeni Piissi (Poetry Set to Music) at the Herod Theatre.
At the same time, he has taken a keen interest in recording and performing songs from the East (Asia Minor, Kapadokia, Pontos, Turkey).
He worked for two years at the Perivoli tou Ouranou "rebetika" (urban blues) music hall, singing with Mario from Thessaloniki rebetika and "laika" (popular Greek songs).
He collaborated with the "Treno sto Rouf" (Train at Rouf) Railway Theatre and Tatiana Ligari in the musical theatre performances Ip' Atmon (All Aboard, theatrical season 2003-2004) and Harisma - I Simetria tis Armonias (Charisma - The Symmetry of Harmony, summer 2004), the latter being part of the Athens 2004 Cultural Program.
