GIORGOS POULIOS
Sound Designer


Born in 1984, he has lived and worked in Athens as assistant tailor. He studied at Steim University and attended seminars with C. Lippe, M. Koutsomichalis and G. Zanos. He won a scholarship for Hague Royal Conservatory, Institute of Sonology Department and is a member of the Contemporary Music Research Centre.

He has presented his work in various concerts and festivals in Greece and abroad; in the Duncan Institute, the Foundation of the Hellenic World, Electromedia Works 08, MIR FESTIVAL 08, Cholargos City Hall, Small Music Theatre, Benakis Museum, Ζenit, Cimatix festival in Brussels and Steim in Amsterdam.

He has composed music for theatre and music theatre performances, as well as for short films, like The Project Happiness, Splinter in the Flesh and Grafima (Grapheme) in collaboration with Stavros Gasparatos, Askisis Etimotitas IV (Emergency Drills) etc., and was responsible for the sound design of the theatrical performance Skoupidi (Piece of Rubbish) and for the dance performance TRENTE. He has worked with the National Conservatory of Athens on Aristophanes’s Frogs, where he live-mixed Gianis Christou’s tapes. He has worked with: Cort Lippe, Stavros Gasparatos, Marinos Koutsomichalis, Giorgis Sakelariou, Filipos Tsalahouris, Yann Leguay (Cutter off), Konstandinos Tsiolis, Michalis Adamis (Adam_Is) and Tassos Stamou. He has also worked with directors Tatiana Ligari, Giorgos Gianarakos, Alkioni Valssari, Christos Ligas, Angelos Papadopoulos and choreographers Petros Galias, Nana Vachla, Jessica Henou and “The Plant” dance group.
