KONSTANTINOS TZOUMAS
Writer

RELATED PERFORMANCES

Born in 1944 in Piraeus, Konstandinos Tzoumas grew up in Passalimani and Athens, always a bookworm and with a keen interest in classic literature, classic sports, table tennis, billiards and rock 'n' roll. He stayed away from university amphitheatres, opting for the real action found on the streets, in cafes and in travelling. His choice to become an actor was a statement against the stereotype of the actor as a person of low moral values. He studied drama at the Athens Drama School and took dancing lessons with Zouzou Nikoloudi, Alvin Nikolai, Mercy Cunningham and Alvin Ailey. When in New York, he learned how to survive without making a big deal out of it. He gave up dancing, since it was "no piece of cake".

He has worked in the theatre, the cinema and TV. He has a daily radio show and he sometimes feels like giving it all up, because he remembers that ever since he was a child what he really enjoyed was reading and writing.
