"The Jazz Express" made the Music Wagon Orient Express their Saturday nights hangout with sold out performances for the last three years. This year, for the fourth time and on the occasion of the 20 years anniversary of the Railway Carriage Theater to Treno sto Rouf, they choose to pay homage to the unique musical heritage of Cole Porter, one of the most influential composers / singers of contemporary American music.
The famous composer, between an adventurous life - that reminds us of ancient tragedy - and a stormy love life, wrote amazingly timeless melodies and created a huge music work. Cole Porter wrote both music and lyrics himself which was very rare at that time, since most of the music composers of his era were cooperating with lyricists.
His personal style, a mixture of sensuality, crispiness and inwardness was quickly loved and became recognizable leaving its mark on Broadway's music scene, along with the triumphant success of his work.
This music perforance is an adaptation of the homonymous film – biography of Cole Porter, which was directed back in 2004 with Kevin Kline in the leading role, and “travels” us to all the favorite songs and melodies that pave the way of our heart to great love stories and unforgettable passions.
