For the first time, the Railway Carriage Theatre “To treno sto Rouf” is running the “compartments dance project” festival, a seven-day tribute to contemporary dance, which will take place from Monday the 3rd to Sunday the 9th of October 2016 at the truly unique New Wagon venue. Thus, individual choreographers and dancers or dance groups are invited to create and present their own short dance pieces (duration between 10 and 30 min) for extra small audiences, inspired by the special ambience of the 12 compartments of the aforementioned Wagon.
Wagon’s limited space, inspiring feelings of privacy, intimacy and sharing; coexistence of performers in close proximity to spectators/”co-travelers”; untraditional stage form, as well as illusion of travel in every sense of the word (escape, departure, arrival, station, encounter, recreation, emigration, parting etc.), can become a creative challenge for both artists and audiences, turning the show into an unforgettable experience.
All shows will be performed daily on a rolling schedule from 07:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
All entry submissions must include the following materials:
a) A proposal including a detailed description of the submitted project accompanied by related audiovisual contents.
b) Participants’ CVs accompanied by high resolution photos.
c) Contact information (telephone/mobile numbers, email addresses etc.).
Applications can be submitted to theater@totrenostorouf.gr until the 15th of July 2016.
The selection procedure will be completed on the 29th of July 2016.
