The creative artistic duo behind two of the most successful and unforgettable children’s productions of recent years — Around the World in 80 Days and Robinson Crusoe at the Athens Concert Hall — reunites once again, inviting us to board the Railway Carriage Theatre for a journey aboard a real train into the world of Art, filled with music, action, adventure, mystery and endless humour.
An immersive, humorous, “site-specific” musical theatre performance for children aged 4 and over, and adults
SUMMARY:
Starting from Rouf Railway Station, the “always-on-time” Train whistles for departure and takes us on a journey to the imaginary land of The Land of Quirks, a country with 7 cities and 7 railway stations. Once great and powerful, the country has fallen ill and is now on the brink of collapse. Its inhabitants have been swept away by 7 vices: greed, laziness, lying, indifference, envy, selfishness and violence.
Is there a cure for the vices? And if so, who can find it? Who is the mysterious Mrs. DoMiSol, who boards the train at the first station, and what is hidden inside her magical suitcase? Will they manage to find a miraculous remedy that can restore to the inhabitants their lost generosity, diligence, honesty, empathy, compassion, altruism and gentleness? And how can music help?
The unique Theatre Wagon of Treno sto Rouf is transformed into a real-life setting, narrator and protagonist of the story, while 7 different musical genres — from classical and Greek traditional music to rhythm ’n’ blues, rock, Latin, rap and electronic music — help unlock the mystery!
Through the charismatic and humorous writing of Giorgos Galitis, the inventive direction of Tatiana Ligari, the original music by Minas I. Alexiadis, the imaginative songs performed with exceptional vocal and interpretative quality by Athina Roussi, and the spectacular choreography of Pepi Zacharopoulou, young and adult passengers embark on a journey into the bright and creative world of Art — a world that gives them the tools to live happily.
Treno sto Rouf begins its journeys to “The Land of Quirks” in early November and invites parents, teachers and children to an unforgettable immersive theatrical experience, where Art becomes the passport to a better world.
