Treno sto Rouf awaits us during the hours when it rests on its tracks, ready to tell us the stories of the distant journeys it has made.
With the help of books, we embark on a unique journey through different eras, magical places and imaginary worlds, discovering the secrets hidden along each of its routes.
We bring the stories of books to life and travel into their imaginary worlds. A workshop, an experiential encounter with stories that we will explore through play.
Each week, we discover a new book and bring it to life through different art forms:
shared reading
theatre games
music and movement
physical expression
During each session, we read the book, discuss its central theme and then play, using the story as our starting point. Afterwards, the children themselves choose the book for the following session.
Through theatre games, storytelling, movement improvisation and creative expression, children discover the fascinating world of books. They learn interesting facts, explore real railway carriages, play, collaborate and express themselves creatively in a unique experiential environment.
At the end of each workshop, we gather in the Restaurant Car, where we enjoy our snack together. There, we share our favourite moment from the day’s adventure and, on our group’s travel map, we draw the next station that will lead us to our new story.
At the end of the year, guided by the map we have created together, we will invite parents and friends to a special presentation. Through this presentation, all the stories, experiences and stations of the journeys we have taken together with Treno sto Rouf will come to life.

Maro Petli, actress & theatre studies graduate
Maro Petli was born in Athens, where she lives and works as an actress and coordinator of theatre games and dance theatre.
She studied acting at the Empros – Theatre Workshop Drama School and Theatre Studies at the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has also studied Special Education and Learning Difficulties.
Since 2013, she has been teaching dance theatre to children and adults at the Association of Greek Archaeologists, the Municipal Libraries of Agia Paraskevi, the Greek National Opera, as well as at numerous schools and private educational institutions.
She is co-coordinator of the “Agapónio Project” workshop for adults aged 60+, organised by the Municipality of Athens (2025–2026), as well as by the Municipality of Psychiko.
As an actress, she has collaborated with theatre groups and directors in theatre and film, including Subtronica, Bloomer, Fani Sakellariou, Stefanos Gekas and others.
She has worked as an assistant director to Giannis Moschos and Thanasis Papakonstantinou.
She has extensive training in contemporary dance, and her work includes the performances “Creata,” “Sunward,” “Homeward” and “Ekkremotita.”
