Following two highly successful years at the Orient Express Music Wagon, Artemis Matafia returns with a brand-new musical performance filled with emotion, memories and beloved melodies.

“A Bouat… Once Upon a Time.” A musical journey that recreates the captivating atmosphere of the legendary Greek bouat clubs, where songs became intimate confessions, music brought people together and lyrics touched the heart. The performance revisits some of the most beautiful moments of Greek art song and authentic laïko repertoire, featuring works by outstanding Greek composers, lyricists and performers who left an indelible mark on the country’s musical heritage.

Melodies about love, romance, hope, optimism and the dreams of an era that continues to move and inspire us. Songs we have all cherished, awakening memories and inviting the audience to sing along.

Through the heartfelt and authentic voice of Artemis Matafia, her remarkable connection with the audience and the musical direction of maestro Nikos Kouros at the piano, each evening becomes a warm and evocative experience. Performers and audience come together as one musical company in a venue steeped in history and romance.
