For 7th year in a row the Railway Carriage Theater to Treno sto Rouf and Tatiana Ligari open the summer season of the unique railway cultural venue with the established Young Artists Festival “The 12 Compartments”.
The Festival – institution, offering to young artists every year an important possibility of expression, is taking place this year for 15 days from Monday 22nd of May to Sunday 4th June 2017.
The heart of the Festival beats in the New Wagon with it 12 “compartments”. In the 12 small private apartments, with the authentic railway atmosphere and the patina of time, the artists get inspired, create and present on a daily basis for 15 days original short projects for small groups of audience. The minimal available space and the absolute proximity with the spectator-co-traveler provoke a blast of creativity and imagination with amazing influences for the artists and the audience.
From 2010 to this day 114 young groups and solo artists (musicians, dancers, directors, actors, choreographers, performers, video artists, visual artists, music groups etc.) have presented their work in the New Wagon, creating original and imaginative cultural activities, which marked the beginning of wonderful collaborations with the Train-Theater.
Every year the Festival gives priority to another form of art. In the 7th Festival the participants are theater groups, music groups with their own compositions, visual artists, performers, film makers and many dance groups. So, this year dance rules.
The imaginative creativity of the choreographers and dancers, the mix of the industrial environment of the railway station and wagons with the plastic and transparent movement lead to a very interesting and unexpected artistic result.
At the same time, the live music, the visual installations, the theatrical and dance performances are also hosted in the rest of the wagons, as well as the open air space of the Platform, offering to the audience and visitors of the Festival a pleasant and unique cultural and railway experience.
