Nikos Chatzitsakos and his quartet open the atmospheric scenery of the Apovathra in the summer’s first open-air live, with original compositions, arrangements of the Great American Songbook and compositions of the legendary hard-bop musicians in a unique Jazz evening, on Wednesday 7th of June 2017 at 21.30.
Nikos Chatzitsakos Quartet consists of Takis Paterelis in the tenor saxophone, Dimitris Angelakis in the vibraphone, Nikos Chatzitsakos in the double bass and Iason Wastor in the drums.
Nikos Chatzitsakos with Music Studies at the University of Athens and the Berklee College, is a double bass player specializing in jazz and latin music, as well as in orchestration and composition. He has collaborated with Sarah Reich (tap dancer), Tony Romano (Guitar), Lenny Sendersky (Saxophone), Giorgos Kontrafouris (Piano), Dimitris Kalantzis (Piano), Spiros Panagiotopoulos (Drums), Dimitris Anghelaki (Voice & Guitar), Loukia Palaiologou (Voice) and has participated in a house band at jam sessions in Athens and Boston.
