The Jazz Express, in collaboration with the Roof Train-Theatre and after two seasons of "sold out" performances, return with the excellent musical show "Franky meets Ella on the Orient Express" at their venue, the Orient Express Musical Carriage , every Saturday at 21.30 from 21 October 2023.
This winter, in their renewed program, they present the enchanting pieces of perhaps the two greatest performers of contemporary music. We always talk about Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.
Francis Albert grew up in Hoboken, New Jersey, while Ella Jane grew up in the town of Yonkers just a few miles north on the banks of the Hudson River. Francis was the son of Italian immigrants and Ella the descendant of slaves in the United States of America. Their careers ran parallel giving Francis Albert 150 million record sales and Ella Jane 13 Grammys.
From the 40s until today, their unique interpretations and the timeless compositions of the great composers of the American tradition seduce and enchant us. They are discovered again and again by each new generation that adopts them and considers them its own discovery and property.
