After an enthusiastic reception in its debut season, Great Ladies Sing, starring Artemis Matafia, returns renewed to the Railway Carriage Theater to Treno sto Rouf.
Twenty women who left an indelible mark on the Greek and international music scene come to life through songs, stories, and snapshots from their lives.
From Billie Holiday and Barbra Streisand to Rosa Eskenazy and Marika Ninou, iconic performers with different backgrounds, voices, and journeys meet unexpectedly on the stage of the Music Wagon Orient Express, brought together by Artemis Matafia. With her expressive voice and unique theatrical presence, the singer and actress transforms each song and story into a living experience, creating a performance full of emotion and intensity.
She is accompanied by exceptional musicians on piano and double bass.

Artemis Matafia is a singer and actress based in Athens. She studied monody and classical guitar at the National Conservatory under the guidance of acclaimed teachers.
Her career began in Thessaloniki, with a focus on traditional "Smyrneiko" and "Rebetiko" songs, collaborating with prominent local ensembles. At the same time, she took part in theatrical productions and engaged in traditional dance.
She has attended musical theatre seminars in both Greece and the UK, enhancing her performance and stage skills. Over the years, she has collaborated with renowned Greek composers, performers, and directors, building an impressive portfolio of performances and projects.
A recipient of multiple interpretation awards, Artemis performs in music venues, theatrical productions, and television shows, interpreting works from the Greek folk and rebetiko tradition, as well as an international repertoire with a focus on Mediterranean songs and musicals.
She teaches experiential voice interpretation to vocal and speech professionals and has composed music for several theatrical productions. Additionally, she works as a voice actress for film and children's television series.
