Presentation of Video Art works

The Railway Carriage Theater to Treno sto Rouf "wore its summer clothes" and continues to pleasantly surprise us by inaugurating a creative collaboration with the National Museum of Contemporary Art with the presentation of five works of video art by Sophie Calle and Gregory Shephard, YOUNG-HAE CHANG HEAVY INDUSTRIES, George Drivas and Shelly Silver. The works with different approaches narrate journeys, wanderings, encounters and personal confidences on the boundary between imaginary and real, private and political.

The screenings will take place on the platform of Rouf railway station throughout July, every Wednesday at 22:00 in the evening with free entrance.

In Double-Blind, Sophie Kahl and Gregory Shepard travel from New York to Las Vegas to get married. Each one records the journey with their own video camera, approaching in a different way the evolution of their relationship. In this video, the journey becomes an opportunity to explore erotic desire through the humorous juxtaposition of videotaped diary confessions.

The art of sleep by Koreans YOUNG-HAE CHANG HEAVY INDUSTRIES is a text-only flash animation with music. The text, which follows the rhythm of the music, is the caustic monologue of a sleepless narrator who is anxious about the importance and role of art today.

Shelly Silver's Suicide is a feature video that takes the form of an amateur diary of Amanda's journey and thoughts. played by the artist herself. By writing the script alongside filming and editing, the artist allows the filmed events to influence the flow of the story as it unfolds. In this way, the boundaries between autobiography and fiction are lost, in a melancholic tale of alienation and wandering.
