Crossing musical landscapes on the Orient Express tracks

A journey in times and places, where the Orient Express has marked its trail. We board onto "The King of Trains", to travel to past eras, through melodies, which last in time...

Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Maurice Chevalier, Tino Rossi, Kurt Weill, Nino Rota, Attik, Yiannidis, Hadjidakis, Tsitsanis, Xarhakos, Mouzakis, Theodorakis, Hadjichristos, Verka Siderova and so many other singers and composers meet inside the Orient Express Music Wagon and join us along the way, from crowded Paris to restless Berlin, romantic Venice, special Budapest, Bucharest and Belgrade, neoclassical Athens, melodic Sofia and expressive Constantinople: every stop, a different song, bringing in mind memories and farewells…

Athina Routsi is singing, Alcestis Raftopoulou accompanies her at the piano and arranges the orchestration and Fotis Mylonas plays the guitar, the mandolin and the wind instruments. Bon voyage…

Athina Routsi has studied music and classical singing. She first introduced herself musically by interpreting a remake of the famous greek hit “Hirokrotima” in Portuguese, by the title "Esse Olhar", which was included in many CD compilations in Greece and abroad. She has been active at the music scene for several years, cooperating both on the stage and in the recording studio with well-known artists (Michalis Hadjiyiannis, Sadahzinia, Active Member, Apurimac, Odipori et.al.) and at the same time moving on with her solo career. In 2007 her cd “Don’t say goodbye” came out, with a compilation of jazz, trip hop, world and greek alternative melodies and songs. She has been creatively contributing to productions of her musician friends (Beggar's Blues Diary / Hide me, Alex Foster, the G-play, Kostas Baltazanis, Claudia Matola, Tony Cedras), presenting mostly acoustic projects of alternative remakes and song-mixing, but also original music. Based on Bjork’s music, her show, together with the bassist George Palamiotis, “All is full of love”, was met with great success. Her new CD “The Existence” is coming out soon.
