A music show
on Saturday the 13th of February,
at 21.30
The renowned saxophone player Yiannis Kassetas presents an extraordinary evening, dedicated to the saxophone legends of the 60s, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson and Dexter Gordon.
Together with three top jazzmen of the greek music scene, drummer Spyros Panayiotopoulos, bassist Manos Loutas and pianist Pantelis Benetatos, he takes us back to the legendary jazz scene of the 1960s.
Yiannis Kassetas has proven, already in 2007 with his debut album “The Truth About The Alien Invasion In Egypt” (Puzzlemusik) and his later “East N Blues”, that he is a jazz composer following closely the developments of the international scene. Beside that, he is also a jazzman, who always studies in depth and honours his art.
In that frame, his concert at the Railway Carriage Theater to Treno sto Rouf is an homage to those three emblematic American saxophone players, who reinvigorated the jazz scene of their time.
