A music evening
on Saturday the 14th of May
at 21.30
Triggered by the title of one of his songs, Stavros Papastavrou presents a tribute to Italian songs, from the times of Renato Carosone and Mambo Italiano, to the melodies of Nino Rota and further on to contemporary favourite Italian song writers, like Lucio Dalla, Fabrizio de André and Angelo Branduardi.
The group consists of three more musicians: Alkistis Raftopoulou (piano), Fotis Mylonas (wind instruments and mandolin) and Socrates Ganiaris (percussion).
Narciso Delacroix, an eccentric artist, a wandering troubadour, travels around the world, singing strange songs, writing sonnets on pink pieces of paper and feeling homesick for his homeland, Italy… A twisted guy –like the Pisa tower, where he claims to live- a downfallen aristocrat, in love with music and girls… Equally romantic, witty, melodic and full of nostalgia are also the songs of Stavros Papastavrou, who narrates us fairy tales for adults.
